Good Samaritan attempting to divert traffic hit by car

Seen is the motorcycle which was hit by the car.

BAU, Oct 10: A motorcyclist was hit by a car as he was attempting to divert other vehicles on the road which had a fallen tree lying across it this morning.

In the 6am incident, Mohd Rahim Mohd Rashid, 40, was riding along Jalan Kampung Puak-Jalan Seropak, when he saw a fallen tree near Kampung Seropak.

According to a Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) Bau fire station spoke person, Mohd Rahim decided to park his motorcycle by the side of the road and proceeded to warn other road users about the fallen tree.

However, he was hit by a Perodua Viva vehicle driven by a woman.

Initial investigations revealed that the driver was unaware of Mohd Rahim’s presence, resulting in the accident.

Mohd Rahim suffered minor injuries. He was given medical treatment by the Bomba EMRS team before they sent him to Bau Hospital.

A team of eight firefighters also cut the fallen tree with a chainsaw to clear the road. — DayakDaily
