MIRI, Aug 17: Miri General Operations Force (GOF) yesterday morning seized suspected untaxed beer and cigarettes worth RM312,383.64 during a raid on a premises in Niah.
According to Miri OCPD ACP Alexson Naga Chabu, the raid was carried out at about 11.45am.
Further investigation and checks inside the premises revealed 50 boxes of beer, 11 bottles of liquor and 1,017 cartons of cigarettes.
A man believed to be the premises caretaker was also detained to facilitate police investigations.
The case is being investigated under the Customs Act 1967. — DayakDaily
