Gira wins Tamin in straight fight, shuts out former assemblyman’s return

KUCHING, Dec 18: Christopher Gira Sambang has blocked off former assemblyman Datuk Joseph Entulu’s comeback in N59 Tamin with a majority of 3,588 votes.

With 7,778 out of total of 11,968 valid votes, he beat Entulu who garnered 4,190 votes, in a straight fight.

In the last State election in 2016, Gira won with a majority of 2,085 votes against Simon Joseph of Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) and independent Dr Ali Puji.

Entulu, who was Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department, won Tamin in 1991 representing PRS and defended the seat until 2006. — DayakDaily
