KUCHING, Dec 1: The Society for Cancer Advocacy and Awareness Kuching (SCAN) is thrilled to announce the return of its signature event, Walk With Me (WWME) 3.0 Fun Run, happening on Feb 23, 2025, at the MBKS grounds.
This vibrant gathering coincides with World Cancer Day 2025, highlighting the global fight against cancer.
According to a press release, this third edition of the event follows its successful runs in 2018 and a virtual version in 2020 due to pandemic restrictions.
Participants can choose between the 3km and 6km routes, making it perfect for everyone, from casual walkers to seasoned runners.
Under the theme “United by Unique” (2025–2027), the event focuses on celebrating individual experiences with cancer while rallying united efforts to create a world that prioritises people over illness.
According to SCAN President Chris Cheng, this initiative emphasises the role of knowledge and education in reducing cancer’s impact on Malaysians.
The patron of SCAN, YB Dato Sri Fatimah Abdullah, who is also Minister for Women, Childhood, and Community Wellbeing Development Sarawak, is expected to flag off the event.
More than 500 people are expected to attend and there will be lucky draw prizes to be won.
Registration is now open to the public at www.scan.org.my and will close on January 5, 2025.
