KUCHING, Aug 26: The H&L Xpress app that facilitates grocery deliveries to homes can make shopping easier and more convenient than ever.
H&L Retail Sdn Bhd general manager (Merchandising) Valen Lai said through the app, customers can order their groceries, among other things, on the phone and get the items delivered within 24 hours.
She said the H&L Xpress app is popular among valued customers, especially during times of pandemic and lockdowns, although retail sales remained strong.
“In fact, during the MCO (movement control order) period, our sales were surprisingly good.
“You see, when you’re under lockdown, what are your necessities? Food, drinks, vegetables, fruits, chicken, and all sorts of commodities.
“So, the demand for these items actually helped us during that time. And of course, we do have our own home delivery service; H&L Xpress,” said Lai during the Hon Lee grand relaunching ceremony at H&L Xtra, Eco Mall in Petra Jaya here today.
Other than services, Lai emphasised the quality and best-valued prices of products sold in all H&L outlets, as per their slogan — “Best Quality, Best Value”.
She said that the quality of products under H&L’s house brand Hon Lee is no different than the market and brand leaders in the region while maintaining the prices at an affordable range.
“Our greatest objective is to keep prices of daily necessities low and to offer consumers an alternative to quality products with better saving and cost-effective price range,” she added.
As of today, there is a total of 226 items under the Hon Lee brand, and more are expected to be launched soon.
In 1959, H&L founding owner Bong Sung Siew first registered the grocery shop as Chop Hon Lee.
From a small-scale, family-operated business, H&L has now grown into one of Sarawak’s major players in the retail industry, with a strong distribution of 14 outlets in Kuching, Samarahan and Serian. — DayakDaily
