National and Sarawak business chambers pay courtesy visit to Awang Tengah

KUCHING, Aug 26: The Malaysian International Chambers of Commerce and Industry (MICCI) delegation pays a courtesy call to Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan at his office here today.

MICCI, led by its president Christina Tee was accompanied by a Sarawak Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) delegation led by its president Datuk Abang Abdul Karim Tun Abang Haji Openg.

In the more-than-an-hour meeting, various issues were discussed, especially joint ventures involving members of SCCI, MICCI as well as investment in Sarawak.

At the meeting, Awang Tengah emphasised that Sarawak is an attractive investment destination with strengths in various aspects and always offers wide opportunities to entrepreneurs and companies from outside.

Through the Post Covid-19 Development Strategy (PCDS) 2030 initiative, he said several sectors have been identified to be given focus and called on MICCI and SCCI members to play a role in making the plan a success.

Also present at the event were Sarawak Ministry of International Trade, Industry and Investment (MINTRED) advisor Dato Naroden Majais and MINTRED special officer Datu Liaw Soon Eng. – DayakDaily
