KUCHING, Dec 18: Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) candidate Dato Gerald Rentap Jabu secured his second term in N36 Layar with a 2,039 majority.
According to the Election Commission’s (EC) official results, the incumbent garnered 3,891 votes in the 12th Sarawak Election.
Rentap defeated Isik Utau from Parti Sarawak Bersatu (PSB) who gained 1,852 votes.
In the previous Sarawak Election in 2016, Rentap won the seat after securing 3,931 votes with 1,428 in majority votes, defeating Vernon Albert Kedit from Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) who managed to gain 2,503 votes. ― DayakDaily
