GE15: SUPP’s Tnay reminds Sarawakian voters to choose wisely, says ‘a vote for PH is a vote for Malaya’

KUCHING, Oct 15: A vote for Pakatan Harapan’s (PH) three component parties is a vote for Malaya, said Sarawak United Peoples’ Party (SUPP) Batu Kitang branch secretary Amy Tnay in calling for Sarawakians to make wise choices in the coming 15th General Election (GE15).

Having experienced 22 months being under PH after the 14th General Election (GE14) in 2018, Tnay emphasised that Sarawak does not need Peninsular-based parties that cannot speak and fight for Sarawak’s rights and interests.

“Sarawak has only 31 parliamentary seats. We cannot let these seats fall into the hands of Malayan parties, which will only weaken Sarawak’s position in Parliament.

“The component parties of PH are only an agent of Malaya whose mission and responsibility is to help strengthen the central opposition coalition, increase their number of parliamentary seats and cause political division in Sarawak so that Malaya can benefit,” she said in a statement today.

If Sarawakians vote for PH member parties of either Democratic Action Party (DAP), Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) or Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah) in the upcoming GE15, Tnay said any seat won in Sarawak will belong to Malaya.

“Although the leaders from PH Sarawak are Sarawakians, they represent Malaya, so any seats that go to them will not bring any benefit to Sarawak but Malaya.

“For example, in GE14, Sarawak DAP won six parliamentary seats, but these seats became part of DAP Malaya’s 42 MPs. So they did a big favour for Malaya but did not get anything in return for Sarawak,” she pointed out.

Tnay also reminded Sarawakians how the 22 months of PH’s rule resulted in cutting many development projects in Sarawak.

“However, DAP leaders appeared to be content with the unfriendly wait, and Chong Chieng Jen (Sarawak DAP chairman) even said that the reduction in the number of ministers was not a big deal,” she added. — DayakDaily
