LUNDU, Oct 24: The 15th General Election (GE15) is a ‘wheel of fortune’ for Sarawak, says Sarawak United Peoples’ Party (SUPP) president Dato Sri Dr Sim Kui Hian.

According to Dr Sim, who is also Deputy Premier of Sarawak, it is a chance for Sarawak to negotiate for its rights in Parliament.

“Sarawak was being bullied for a long time, but Sarawak is not going to be bullied all the time,” he told reporters after witnessing the SUPP Opar and Tanjung Datu branch committee joint installation ceremony held at Chung Hua Hall in Lundu today.

Dr Sim said by winning 31 seats in GE15, GPS will have better negotiating power as compared to Sarawak Democratic Action Party (DAP),

Referring to the ‘wheel of fortune’, he said one could be at the top one day, then they could be at the bottom the next.

“So it’s time for DAP to drop to the bottom,” added Dr Sim, who is also the assemblyman for Batu Kawah.

Meanwhile, Dr Sim said DAP has mentioned that voting for GPS is equal to voting for Umno (United Malays National Organisation).

However, he pointed out that DAP is currently using Umno’s funds which were given by the Prime Minister from Umno.

“They said that the fund is from the Prime Minister instead of Umno; they will say whatever is convenient for them,” he said. DayakDaily
