KUCHING: Sept 17: An array of fun-filled programmes awaits festival goers at the Satok Fiesta hosted by the Kuching North City Hall (DBKU) next weekend (Sept 28-29).
The annual event, into its third edition this year, is organised by the various Kejiranan Mesra (KJM) or Friendly Neighbourhood bodies under DBKU jurisdiction on a rotational basis.
This year, KJM Sungai Maong is given the honour to be the organiser, under the chairmanship of Penghulu Giam Ann Kee with Sih Hua Tong as the chief coordinator.
Giam led a delegation that included Sih, event sponsor Tan Keng Yaw and members of the organising committee to pay a courtesy call on DBKU’s mayor Datu Junaidi Reduan last Friday to brief on the preparation for the carnival.
“The organising committee, which comprise representatives from 11 KJMs, held several meetings recently and it is now in the final stage of preparation,” Sih said in a statement.
The two-day fiesta, which is open to the public, included table tennis, colouring contest, karaoke competition, flea market, futsal tournament, short distant run, blood donation campaign, health screening, chocolate designing contest and cooking competition. — DayakDaily
