KUCHING, Aug 17: All areas in Sarawak have recorded moderate Air Pollution Index (API) readings as of 11am today.

According to the API Management System (APIMS), Serian recorded the highest reading at 94, with Samarahan (86), Kuching (84), and Sri Aman (82) trailing behind.

In other areas Statewide, Sarikei recorded an API reading of 77, followed by Sibu (74), Bintulu (71), Miri (64), Samalaju (63), Mukah (60), ILP Miri (59), and Limbang and Kapit (55).

Nationwide, only one area recorded an unhealthy API reading: Johan Setia in Selangor, at 149.

This starkly contrasts with last week’s readings, which saw multiple areas in the unhealthy category, and schools in Serian having to close after the area recorded readings that exceeded 200. — DayakDaily
