MIRI, August 5: Ten friends were allegedly cheated over the purchase of flight tickets to China from Miri.
The victims had given a woman cash amounting to more than RM14,000 as she had promised to arrange for the flight tickets for a trip to China on July 12 this year.
However, about two weeks after the money was passed to her, the suspect informed the victims that due to some issues she could not purchase the flight tickets. She promised to give a refund.
Despites the issues, the victims decided to purchase flight tickets on their own to proceed with their original plan to travel to China and as they were promised the refund once they returned from China.
However, they have yet to receive their money from the suspect, prompting them to lodge a police report on the incident at Miri Central police station (CPS). — DayakDaily
