Fourth consecutive day of zero Covid-19 cases in Sarawak

KUCHING, Dec 16: Sarawak continued to witness zero positive cases of Covid-19 reported for the fourth consecutive day with no new positive case either from the local transmission or imported identified in Sarawak.

There was one patient who recovered and was allowed to be discharged from the hospital.


The information was disclosed by the State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) in a press statement today.

With no new case of Covid-19 identified, the cumulative cases of Covid-19 in Sarawak remained at 1,075 cases.

SDMC said there were 10 patients who were still being treated for Covid-19 at health facilities in Sarawak.

They include nine patients in Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) in Kuching and one patient in Bintulu Hospital in Bintulu.

There was one Covid-19 cluster, the Besi Cluster which was still active and involved 12 positive cases.

On another note, there were 12 new cases of Person-Under-Investigation (PUI) and two PUI cases were awaiting laboratory test results for the virus.

Apart from that, the committee said there were 200 Person-Under-Surveillance (PUS) who registered into hotels and quarantine centres to undergo the mandatory quarantine.

It disclosed that there was 4,355 PUS who were undergoing quarantine at 41 hotels and quarantine centres while a total of 40,183 PUS have completed their quarantine today. —DayakDaily
