KOTA SAMARAHAN, July 9: Four branches of Sen Sen Trading namely its Samarindah, Desa Ilmu, Mile 10 and Serian branches have joined the Kota Samarahan Municipal Council’s (MPKS) ongoing Community Pantry programme that will run until July 12.
MPKS chairman Dato Peter Minos announced the initiative during his visit to several other locations for the programme today.
With the participation of the Sen Sen Trading outlets, the programme would be able to extend its help in the form of distributing food aid to those in need.
The food assistance will be distributed 3pm daily at Aiman Mall, Emart Summer Mall, Farley Supermarket, H&L Supermarket, LePaPa Hypermarket, Unaco Supermarket, Choice Supermarket, Everwin, BB Supermarket, Everrise, Teck Kong (until July 10), any eight branches of CS Mini Market around Kuching and four branches of Sen Sen Trading.
MPKS Councillor Dato Sim Kiang Chiok who is the Community Pantry organising chairman accompanying Minos during the visit, commented that the programme was conducted in accordance with the standard operating procedures (SOP) to prevent Covid-19 infection.
“The lockdown period where most businesses and factories are closed has affected the incomes of those that are daily paid and unemployed.
“There are assistance by our State and federal governments in the form of food aid and financial aid which will be rolled out this month (July) and subsequently bring much needed relief to our many residents.
“However, there are still some who need and welcome any assistance in this trying time when we are locked down and unable to work,” he said in a statement today. — DayakDaily
