Four more medical personnel in Sarawak infected with Covid-19

KUCHING, Feb 11: Four cases involving medical personnel infected with Covid-19 were reported today.

The State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) in a statement today revealed the four cases were detected in Sibu (three) and Miri (one).


The additional new cases bring the total cumulative number of cases involving medical personnel infected with Covid-19 in the state to 173 cases.

Yesterday, the State recorded three medical personnel in Sibu infected with Covid1-19.

On the same note, State Health director Dr. Chin Zin Hing told DayakDaily that a total of 162 Covid-19 cases were recorded among medical staff in four major hospitals in Sarawak between January and Feb 8, and 75 of them had recovered.

According to Dr Chin, most of the cases (44.1 per cent) were infected through the community while 38.2 per cent were transmitted from colleagues and 17.6 per cent from other patients. The cases were recorded in Sarawak General Hospital (SGH), Miri Hospital, Bintulu Hospital and Sibu Hospital. – DayakDaily.
