KUCHING, Feb 3: There are another four more cases of Covid-19 infections among the medical staff in Sarawak, bringing the total infected figure among healthcare providers to 89 since Jan 25, 2021.
Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) in its daily statement today reported the four cases.
Two of the infected cases were from medical facilities in Sibu district while the other two from those of Miri district. SDMC reports did not release information with regards to which facilities these infected medical staff are from.
On Jan 25, in answering to DayakDaily’s question, Dr Chin revealed that as of that day, there were in total 53 medical staff across four major hospitals in Sarawak being infected by the dreaded pandemic.
The new day on Jan 26, Dayakdaily followed up the news and reported that there were five additional Covid-19 cases among the healthcare provider team across Sarawak.
On Jan 29, SDMC reported nine infections among the healthcare providers in Sarawak.
Then on Jan 30, there was one such reported case while the next day on Jan 31, SDMC announced that three medical staff fell victim to the pandemic.
On Feb 1, six more of such cases reported by SDMC, pushing the total infections among medical staff to 77.
Yesterday, eight new cases among the medical staff in Sarawak pushing up the total number of infections to 85.
In addition to the four cases today, it means since Jan 25, 2021, there are at least 89 healthcare providers across Sarawak had fall victim to Covid-19. —DayakDaily
