MIRI, Oct 7: Four men were arrested on Sunday (Oct 6) and early this morning on suspicion of assault over the beating of a man in Lutong two days ago.
The suspects, aged between 20 to 37 years old, were currently being detained at the Miri Central police station for questioning.
Police informed that they were picked up from various locations during an operation conducted from 10pm (Sunday) until 1am Monday.
The case is being investigated under Section 148 of the Penal Code for riot.
According to a police report, the 37-year-old victim had sustained multiple injuries after being beaten by the suspects inside a house in Lutong.
The motive of the alleged attack was believed to be prompted by jealousy.— DayakDaily
