Four houses go up in smoke at Kampung Hilir fire, no casualties

KUCHING, Jan 16: Two houses were destroyed while two others were badly damaged by a fire incident in Kampung Hilir, Sri Aman, this afternoon.

According to Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) operation centre, they received an emergency call regarding the incident at 12.20 pm, and a team of six firefighters from Sri Aman fire station led by PBK II Chimian Anak Duyu, together with operation commander PPgB William Baheng, rushed to the location.

“Operation commander arriving at the location reported that the fire incident involved four houses where two of the houses were completely destroyed by the flame, while two others were 80 per cent damaged,” it said in a statement today.


The statement noted no casualties were reported during the incident and the situation was put under control at 1.04 pm. — DayakDaily
