SIBU, Jan 24: Four friends were compounded RM1,000 each for violating the Movement Control Order (MCO) early this morning.

Sibu district police chief, ACP Stanley Jonathan Ringgit said at about 12.10am, a police MPV stopped a passenger car at Jalan Sentosa-Salim.

“Upon checking, the policemen saw four persons inside the car. They explained that they had just left their friend’s house after playing computer games and also watching illegal motorbike racing,” he said.

The four were aged between 16 to 42.

The police team however did not accept their excuse as they should be at home at that hour.

They were subsequently fined RM1,000 each under the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases (Measures Within the Infected Local Areas) Regulations 3, 2020 and Act 342, 1988 of the same Regulation. — DayakDaily
