BETONG, Dec 7: Four doors of Sibat longhouse located at its rear in Jelukong are in imminent danger of collapsing into a ravine following a landslide triggered by heavy downpour.
The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) Sarawak reported that the landslide impacted the rear section of the longhouse.
A team of firefighters from the Betong Station led by operation commander Hasbie Man was mobilised to the longhouse in response to a report received at 12.06pm today.
Upon inspection, firefighters determined that the landslide occurred approximately two feet away from the affected longhouse structure.
Notably, this is not the first instance of such an event.
Firefighters cautioned the longhouse residents to remain vigilant and promptly alert Bomba if the the situation were to deteriorate. — DayakDaily
