KUCHING, Sept 22: Police have arrested four suspects in connection with a murder near Jalan Mentung Merau, Serian.
Following a tip-off from the public, the body of a 27-year-old local man covered in blood was discovered lying in the middle of the road between Kampung Resak and Kampung Diang around 4am today (Sept 22).
Police subsequently arrested four suspects aged between 16 and 19 after eyewitnesses disclosed that the suspects had attended a party with the victim at a village nearby the night before.
It was believed that the suspects and the victim were intoxicated, and an argument ensued between them.
A forensics team at the scene where the body was found, also discovered pieces of broken bottles and a chainsaw chain nearby.
According to a source from the Serian District Police Headquarters, the suspects have been remanded to facilitate investigation, and the case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder. — DayakDaily
