KUCHING, Sept 22: A male US citizen died of head injuries while his wife sustained a broken right thumb after a car hit them as they were crossing a road at Jalan Padungan at about 12.10am today.
The victims were brought to Sarawak General Hospital for treatment, but the man was pronounced dead at 1.54am.
The deceased was identified from his documents as a 66-year-old residing in Maryland, USA while his wife who is also a US citizen, is 48.
She is now at a private hospital for further treatment.
The car driver is a welder, 26, from Matang. He was unhurt during the incident.
The case is now being investigated under Section 41 (1) of the Road Transport Act 1987. — DayakDaily
