KUCHING, April 30: Former Parti Bansa Dayak Sarawak (PBDS) president Bobby William has called on party members to remain united, disciplined, and focused as the party gears up for its upcoming Triennial Delegate Conference (TDC), expected in the fourth quarter of this year.
In a press statement issued today, Bobby described the upcoming TDC as a pivotal moment for PBDS—one that demands reflection, celebration of past achievements, and decisive planning for a stronger future.
“This is a time to reflect on our struggles, celebrate our achievements, and, most importantly, plan for a future where PBDS stands as an equal among Malaysia’s leading political forces,” he said.
Bobby, who once led the Dayak-based political party, urged all levels of the party—leaders, committee members, and grassroots supporters—to put aside differences and work together in the spirit of cooperation.
“Your dedication is the backbone of this party. Let us move forward… putting the interests of the Bangsa Dayak and the party above all else,” he emphasised.
Acknowledging the difficulties of navigating Malaysia’s political landscape, he stressed that political relevance must be earned through perseverance and strict adherence to the PBDS Party Constitution.
Bobby also confirmed that he would not be seeking any position in the upcoming TDC, citing his current focus on business and family commitments.
“Though I’ve stepped back from active leadership, my loyalty to PBDS remains steadfast. I fully support the democratic process and will stand behind whoever is elected to lead the party at the upcoming conference,” he said.
Looking ahead, Bobby expressed hope that the next generation of PBDS leadership would bring “fresh energy, strategic vision, and unwavering commitment” to elevate the party’s standing, while remaining true to its original mission—to champion the rights, dignity, and future of the Dayak people.
“Let us enter this TDC with maturity, wisdom, and a shared determination to strengthen PBDS. The Bangsa Dayak is counting on us—let us not fail them,” he concluded. — DayakDaily
