SIBU, Sept 17: Former Jemoreng assemblyman (2006-2016) Abu Seman Jahwie, 64, has passed away at 5am today.

His wife, Dayang Normaliza Awang Tambi said Abu was requested for admission to a private medical centre here following a fever on Thursday (Sept 16).

Abu, who was also a political secretary to the Chief Minister, however, declined to receive treatment at the centre as he wanted to go home.

“But his health condition appeared to have worsened, and he requested last night to be admitted to the centre.

“Then he told me that everything was alright. However he complained of chest pain,” recalled Dayang.

The devastating, shocking news came at 5am when she was told by a doctor that her husband had passed away. The couple has three daughters.

The remains of Abu had been brought to Masjid An-Nur before being buried at Kemuyang Muslim cemetery today. Meanwhile, visitors came to pay their last respect at the mosque. — Dayakdaily
