KUCHING, Feb 23: The state Forest Department confiscated logs and timber products worth RM25,000 during a raid at an illegal sawmill at Sungai Tengah Matang here recently.
Its enforcement unit seized two band saws, 35 pieces of sewn logs, 105 pieces of process timber and a lorry.
“The raid was carried out by a team of enforcement officers from our regional office. The confiscated items have an estimated value of RM25,000,” the department spokesperson said in a statement.
The case will be investigated under Section 90 (1) of the Sarawak Forest Ordinance. — DayakDaily
