KUCHING, Aug 25: An Indonesian national has claimed trial to molesting a nurse at Sarawak General Hospital when he was there seeking treatment.
Kusno, 51, from Indonesia pleaded not guilty to the charge.
Magistrate Mohd Syukri Mokhtar fixed September 22 for pre-trial case management. No bail was allowed as the accused is a foreigner.
He was accused of molesting a 22-year-old nurse at Sarawak General Hospital, Medical ward 5, at about 8 pm on August 9, 2020. The accused had been undergoing treatment at the hospital for Leptospirosis since August 5.
He was charged under Section 354 of the Penal Code, which carries a maximum imprisonment term of 10 years or with fine or with whipping or with any two of such punishments, upon conviction.
Prosecuting Officer Inspector Mohd Adzmei Ahmad prosecuted while the accused is unrepresented by counsel.—DayakDaily
