Foreign motorcyclist injured after hit by car

MIRI, Sept 19: A driver lost control of his vehicle and crashed onto a high-powered motorcycle while navigating a roundabout near Miri Police headquarters on Wednesday.

Following the incident, the rider, in his 70’s from Newport, Rhode Island, USA, sustained bodily injuries.

Both vehicles were heading towards Pujut from the city centre when the collision occurred around 11.40am.

A team of four from the Malaysia Civil Defence Department (JPAM) rushed to the scene after receiving an emergency call.

According to eyewitnesses, the incident occurred when the car suddenly swerved into the motorcycle’s lane.

As a result of the impact, the rider was thrown off his high-powered motorcycle. He sustained injuries on his left elbow and leg.

He was sent to Miri Hospital for further treatment. — DayakDaily
