KUCHING, April 11: The 17th Asean Food Conference 2023 (AFC 2023) is set to be held in Kuching from Oct 24 to 27 at the Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK).
Organised by the Malaysian Institute of Food Technology (MIFT), the conference themed ‘Future of Food in Asean: What’s Next?’ is aimed at providing a platform for food scientists, researchers, industry professionals, policymakers, and students from Asean and beyond to come together to discuss and share their latest research findings, innovations, challenges and opportunities in the food industry.
With a focus on exploring new food technologies, sustainability, safety, quality and nutrition in the Asean region, the conference will feature keynote speeches, plenary lectures, panel discussions, oral and poster presentations, workshops and an exhibition.
MIFT vice president and AFC 2023 organising chairperson Sharidah Yusoff said this conference provides a great opportunity for the food industry to connect, learn, and share their knowledge and experiences, and explore the future of food in Asean.
“We are excited to host the 17th Asean Food Conference 2023 in Kuching, Malaysia.
“The conference is expected to attract 300-400 delegates from Asean and beyond, including academics, researchers, industry professionals, policymakers and students.
“AFC 2023 will also provide a unique opportunity for delegates to network, collaborate and form new partnerships,” she said in a media release today.
