KUCHING, June 24: Bantuan Khas Sarawakku Sayang food assistance was successfully delivered to Long Keneng in Limbang despite landslides which blocked road access.

According to a news report from Sarawak Public Communication Unit (Ukas) today, Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Long Napir Women’s chief Halin Sabin said the food delivery team from Batu Danau managed to deliver the assistance despite having to endure various challenges due to terrain and weather.

“Our team left Limbang town around 3am on Saturday (June 19) and safely arrived at the Long Keneng area at 10am. En route to Long Keneng, there were a few areas where the road is impassable due to landslides which caused part of the road to be blocked by fallen trees.

“With the cooperation of local villagers, we managed to clear the road of the fallen trees, and managed to reach our destination,” she said.

A total of 81 food packs were sent to Long Keneng, which was divided for distribution to three areas namely Long Adang (40 packs), Long Keneng (20 packs) and Long Gita (21 packs) using a four-wheel drive vehicle.

Meanwhile, Batu Danau assemblyman Paulus Palu Gumbang said that the food assistance would bring immediate relief to the local community in light of the long period of the Movement Control Order (MCO) implementation.

“The Bantuan Khas Sarawakku Sayang (BKSS) 6.0 food assistance to Long Keneng is also the last delivery to the Long Keneng area, which completed the distribution for the entire locality in Batu Danau constituency,” he added. — DayakDaily
