MIRI, July 13: Miri Civil Defence Force (APM) with Miri Welfare Department today transported 81 packs of dry food to 81 residents of 29-door Rumah Akit@Chaluk in Subis District which has been cut off by flood water since July 3.
The delivery team used four-wheel-drive (4WD) vehicles and fibre boats to transport the food aid to the affected villagers this morning around 10am.
APM Miri in a report said the team started its journey at 6am today and arrived at the location around 10am.
As of today, the floodwater level in the area was recorded at two feet high.
Heavy rain since July 3 had cut off road access to the village due to a nearby river overflowing and inundating the road. — DayakDaily
