KUCHING, April 4: Kota Sentosa assemblyman Wilfred Yap urged the Opposition to bring up the issue of the delayed construction of the 6th Mile, 7th Mile, and 10th Mile flyovers to the federal government as it is a federal project.

He explained that as an assemblyman, it is outside of his capability to give an answer regarding the delay of the projects.

“If the Opposition really want to work for the people, they should bring this issue to the Dewan Rakyat and ask the relevant ministry and the minister in charge.

“The relevant ministry and the minister in charge will give them a valid answer,” he said when met by reporters after the launching ceremony of the Kota Sentosa Town Square Ramadan Bazaar today.

Despite this, Yap said he would do his part to prepare a question and forward it to Dewan Rakyat to seek clarification from the minister in charge.

On Saturday (April 2), special assistant to Sarawak Democratic Action Party (DAP) chairman Chong Chieng Jen, Michael Kong Feng Nian on his Facebook questioned Yap on the delay of the flyover projects, which were initially promised to be completed by April.

“We have entered the month of April, yet the flyovers, especially at 6th Mile and 7th Mile, do not seem to be near completion anytime soon.

“Enough with the delays, and complete this job ASAP (as soon as possible),” he said.

Today, the Kota Sentosa Town Square Ramadan Bazaar was officiated by Padawan Municipal Council (MPP) deputy chairman Dato Ahmad Ibrahim and Yap.

Yap also mentioned setting up a changing room and toilet at the town square soon. ― DayakDaily
