Floodwaters in Long Bemang, Baram reaches 2.8ft high, Bomba reports rising trend in water level

Floodwaters in Long Bemang reached 2.8ft this morning.

KUCHING, Nov 17: The floodwaters in Kampung Long Bemang in Baram have reached as high as 2.8ft this morning.

According to a report by the Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) today, the area is still seeing a rising trend in water level as of 11am though the weather is clear.


This is the third day the village is hit by floods.

Many areas have been inundated by floods in the area.

A total of 103 households with 530 residents have been affected by the disaster.

As of now, four members of the Long Bemang voluntary Bomba are on the ground to assist the locals to move their important belongings to higher grounds. — DayakDaily
