Flood victims in 13 places in Marudi to receive food aid

Flood aid personnel from fire and rescue department, civil defence force, welfare department and Rela are on their way to deliver food baskets for flood victims along Sungai Baram.

MARUDI, May 6: Nine personnel from Fire and Rescue Department, Civil Defense Force, the Welfare Department and Rela have embarked on a three day, two nights journey by boat to help flood victims in at least 13 places in this district.

Marudi fire station chief Maureen Sim said 677 food baskets will be distributed.

“The team departed by boat at 10.30 am today. It will take at least two nights for them to complete the delivery due to weather and river condition, on top of having to make 13 stops along Sungai Baram,” Maureen said in a statement.


The food were portioned in packets as follows: Rh Vincent Tjg Upar (66), Rh Mugang Tjg Upar (54), Rh Jipun Tjg Upar (30), Rh Gerinang Logan Tasong (14), Long Maro (60), Benawa (90), Kuala Tutoh (142), Lubok Kulat (20) Long patan (26), Long Pahlo (29), Long Ukok (32), Long Panai (23) and Klinik Long Panai (5).—DayakDaily
