“Having a safe and comfortable place to learn means a great deal to parents. This is the hope we want to fulfil for the people of Nanga Temalat, so their children can have a good start in building their future,” he said in a Facebook post on Sunday (Oct 25).

Nanta said the school had long served children in the Nanga Temalat community but had also faced challenges when it was hit by floods.

The newly completed facilities include a four-storey administrative block, two twin Type C quarters, separate hostels for boys and girls with a capacity of 30 occupants each, as well as learning equipment and basic amenities.

The improved facilities are expected to benefit 94 pupils, including preschoolers, and 17 teachers. Of the total pupil population, 28 are hostel residents.

He expressed hope that the new facilities would help teachers carry out their duties more effectively and motivate pupils to continue pursuing their ambitions.

“To the children of SK Nanga Temalat, keep studying hard and have the courage to pursue your dreams,” he said. — DayakDaily
