KUCHING, July 12: Sudden heavy downpour in Kuching has caused flash floods in several low-lying neighbourhoods this evening.
As people scrambled to get their belongings to higher ground, the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) Sarawak also mobilised their firefighters to monitor the flooded areas.
Assistant director for state operations PgKB I Henderi Ardimanshah said they received several emergency calls to monitor these affected areas at Desa Wira, Kampung Sinar Budi and Mile 7.
He added that as of 9.55pm, the flood water has appeared to have receded as the rain has also stopped. — DayakDaily
