KUCHING, May 31: A man was seriously injured while four others sustained minor injuries in a road accident in Jalan Kanowit heading towards Sibu today.
According to a report by the Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), they dispatched a team of firefighters from Kanowit Fire Station (BBP) after receiving the distress call at 3.13pm.
Upon arrival, Bomba reported that the vehicle they were on had fallen into a drain.
“Four victims were successfully removed by members of the public before the arrival of the Bomba. Out of the four, one male victim, who was severely injured, was sent to the hospital by the passersby.
“Meanwhile, an elderly woman who was stuck in the passenger seat was extricated by Bomba using special tools.
“All victims have been handed over to the Kanowit medical officers for further treatment,” the report said. — DayakDaily
