KUCHING, Aug 15: Five secondary schools in Puncak Borneo near here received a total of RM21,000 for the i-Learn Ace 2020: Sistem Pengajaran & Pembelajaran Digital programme.
The schools, namely SMK Tarat, SMK Tun Abdul Razak, SMK Padawan, SMK Siburan and SMK Lake, were selected to become the pioneer of the programme.
Puncak Borneo MP Willie Mongin said the programme caters for Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) students of the selected schools, who will be sitting for the examination next year.
“For a start, five schools are selected for the pioneer programme, and if successful will be extended to other schools in Puncak Borneo in the future because I am committed to help our students to excel in their study.
“I see this programme is even meaningful, particularly during this Covid 19 pandemic and the new normal so as not to allow our students to be left behind in their study,” he said when handing over a cheque of RM21,000 to the five schools involved.
He explained that the content of the programme is 100 per cent based on the syllabus from Ministry of Education.
Willie added that the programme will involve 10 SPM students of each school, who have been identified for having great potential to excel in the examination,” Willie, who is Deputy Minister of Plantation Industries and Commodities stressed.
He further said that the programme was also in line with the call by Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg on the need to reform teaching and learning methods in the 21st century to help the state towards digitalisation.
Apart from the handing over of the cheque, Willie also handed over SPM reference books to the schools, involving a total cost of RM27,000.-DayakDaily
