KUCHING, Aug 22: Malaysia records eight new Covid-19 cases today, with three imported cases and five local transmission cases.
Ministry of Health revealed that all five locally-transmitted cases were from Tawar cluster, Kedah.
As for the imported cases, one each was reported from Sarawak, Kuala Lumpur and Sabah involving one Malaysian and two non Malaysians who just returned from the Netherlands, Bangladesh and the Philippines respectively.
With that, the ministry summarised a cumulative number of 9,257 Covid-19 cases nationwide, with 183 active cases which are subjected to transmission.
Besides that, the ministry also stated in its Facebook post today, eight positive Covid-19 cases are receiving treatment in the intensive care unit (ICU) with four cases needing respiratory assistance.
It also noted four recoveries in the country with successful discharge amounting to 8,949 cumulative number of recovery cases recorded. —DayakDaily
