First OKU-friendly overpass bridge in Tudan to be completed by May 2024

KUCHING, April 1: The first OKU-friendly overpass bridge in Tudan is expected to be completed by May 2024.

According to a news report from Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas) today, Senadin assemblyman Dato Sri Lee Kim Shin said the new overpass bridge design costing RM7.677 million is also the first of its kind in Miri.

Lee was briefed on the project during his visit to the site on Friday (March 31).

He said the open tender project for the 55.6m long with a height of 6.3m began on Nov 4, 2022, and was delayed due to utility problems involving the relocation of electricity polls and underground telecommunication cable.

He has also requested for the cooperation from Telekom and Sarawak Energy Berhad (SEB) to expedite the relocation process. — DayakDaily
