KUCHING, Oct 25: The Sarawak government has exempted the surcharge for late payment for the first half 2021 assessment rates which was due on May 31, 2021.
“Ratepayers who have not settled the first half 2021 assessment rates can make payment without surcharge until Oct 31, 2021.
“Payment of 2021 rates after Oct 31, 2021 shall be subject to a surcharge of 1 per cent per month or part thereof,” said Padawan Municipal Council (MPP) in a press statement today.
Meanwhile, it pointed out that the due date for payment of the second half 2021 assessment rates is Oct 31, 2021.
MPP will open its collection counters on Saturday (Oct 30, 2021, 8am to 3.30pm) and Sunday (Oct 31, 2021, 8am to 1pm) for payment of assessment rates. From Monday to Friday, the counters will operate from 8am to 3.30pm including lunch hour.
Payment of assessment rate bills can be made at all the payment counters at MPP, Service Sarawak Counters (UTC in Kuching, Sibu and Miri), DBKU, MBKS, SESCO, KWB, Pos Malaysia Bhd and H&L Supermarkets.
Ratepayers can also pay online by accessing http://paybills.Sarawak.gov.my.
Payment can also be made online using S Pay Global (formerly known as Sarawak Pay) where ratepayers with internet banking can scan the QR Code printed on the assessment rate bill and pay.
Ratepayers who have not received their assessment rate bills or have mislaid their assessment rate bills are requested to contact or come to MPP at Kota Padawan, Kuching.
