First day of CNY limit to close family members only

KUCHING, Jan 12: Celebration for upcoming Chinese New Year next month will only be allowed on the first day (Feb 12) and limited to 20 close family members only.

The State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) announced this in a statement today.

It said that further details of SOP for the festival celebration will be updated in the Ministry of Local Government and Housing official website at https://mlgh.sarawak.gov.my/page-0-267-193-SOPs-During-Recovery-Movement-Control-Orders-RMCO.html in the nearest time.

Meanwhile, SDMC added that cinemas are not allowed to operate during the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) period which will come into effect at midnight tonight (12.01am) until Jan 26 at 11.59pm.

However, the sales of food and beverage at cinemas are allowed to open for take-away and food delivery only.


According to previous SOP for CMCO, the operating time for economic sectors allowed to open is from 6am to 10pm. — DayakDaily
