Firefighters rescue trio pinned inside vehicle in collision

KUCHING, Dec 21: Firefighters rescued three women pinned inside their vehicle following a collision with a lorry along Jalan Stephen Yong here today.

Sarawak Fire and Rescue (Bomba) operation centre, in a statement today, said they received a call regarding the incident at 10.36 am, and a team of nine firefighters led by PBK II Tahir Tuah, were rushed to the location.

“Operation commander arriving at the location reported that the road accident involved a compact vehicle and a lorry, which caused the compact vehicle’s driver to be pinned on her foot, together with two passengers.


“Firefighters then started their rescue operation, and managed to get all three victims out of the vehicle, and they were handed over to the Ministry of Health (MOH) ambulance waiting at the location for further action,” it said.

The statement noted, the lorry driver however was not injured in the incident.

Among other agencies involved in the incident were Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) and Malaysian Armed Force (ATM) personnel. — DayakDaily
