Firefighters rescue trapped driver after accident along Lubok Antu Road

KUCHING, Nov 16: A 36-year-old woman trapped inside her vehicle was rescued by firefighters after being involved in a road accident with another vehicle along Lubok Antu Road, today.

Betong Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), in a statement said, they received an emergency call regarding the incident at 2.14 pm.

A team of nine firefighters, led by PBK II Jusmandie Jamie, together with Bomba officer PBK I Henry Jugah were rushed to the scene which is about 45 kilometres from the station.


“Upon arriving at the location, it was found that the road accident that involved a compact vehicle and a lorry had occurred in front of Rh Sebeliau longhouse, which caused the female driver of the compact vehicle to be trapped inside her car.

The lorry that was involved in the road accident with the compact vehicle along Lubok Antu Road today (Nov 16, 2020).

“Firefighters then proceed to remove the victim using the Road Traffic Accident (RTA) tools, before handing her to the ambulance waiting at the location for medical treatment,” it said.

The statement noted that the lorry driver and his passenger only suffered minor injuries and was brought by the Bomba Emergency Medical Rescue Services (EMRS) to Merindun clinic for further treatment. — DayakDaily
