MIRI, Oct 16: Five occupants including two Filipinos were safely rescued by firefighters after a fire broke out at their rented premises this afternoon.
According to the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) operations centre, they received the emergency call at 1.50pm.
“Upon arrival, firefighters discovered the fire in the living room on the first floor of a shop lot located at Jalan Silvia. By 2.30pm, the fire was successfully controlled.
“Firefighters also rescued a sleeping occupant in one of the rooms, and another four people from other rooms,” operations commander TPgB Mohd Hamdani Madon revealed in a statement.
The cause of fire is under investigation. — DayakDaily
