Firefighters rescue 68yo man trapped in vehicle after accident near SGH

KUCHING, March 12: A 68-year-old man was safely rescued by firefighters this morning after his car crashed into a tree in front of Sarawak General Hospital (SGH), leaving him trapped inside the vehicle.

According to reports by the Fire and Rescue team (Bomba), the vehicle, a Perodua Kelisa driven by the victim, skidded off the road and crashed into a tree by the roadside.

The Bomba department received a call regarding the incident at 10.35am and immediately dispatched a team from the Batu Lintang fire station to the scene.

Upon arrival, the team found the man trapped in the driver’s seat of the car.

The Bomba team utilised a special ‘Rescue Tool’ equipment to safely extricate the victim from the wreckage.

Once freed, the man was immediately handed over to medical personnel for further treatment.

After ensuring that the crash site was safe and under control, the team returned to the station at 11.05am. – DayakDaily
