KUCHING, June 9: A 57-year-old woman sustained injuries following a single-vehicle accident along Jalan Simpang Kaki Wang, SAPOM housing, Saratok today.
The Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) operations centre reported that they received a call regarding the accident at 12.23pm and instantly despatched a team from Bomba Saratok to the location.
The operations commander reported that the victim, who was driving a red Proton Saga was trapped in the driver’s seat.
“Prior to Bomba’s arrival, members of the public had extracted six other victims who were sent to Saratok Hospital via ambulance,” the report said.
Bomba personnel moved the road divider in order to extricate the remaining victim, who was later sent to Saratok Hospital via an Emergency Medical Rescue Services (EMRS) fire engine. — DayakDaily
