Firefighters monitoring flood situation in Song

Firefighters helping residents move household items to safety.

KUCHING, Sept 7: Firefighters have been mobilised in Song to monitor the flood situation resulting from rainy weather over the past few days.

According to a statement from the Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) operations centre, personnel visited Kampung Sejiran, Jalan Kebiau, Song last night. They found a few houses in the area had flooded and the firefighters proceeded to assist residents to move their possessions and household items.

Some classrooms at a school in the area were also found to be flooded. A school teacher was urged to contact Bomba if the water level continued to rise.

No evacuations have been carried out so far. Bomba is monitoring the situation in the affected areas. — DayakDaily
