KUCHING, Nov 26: Oftentimes, firefighters respond to emotionally taxing or heartbreaking calls, however, sometimes they get odd calls that can warm a person’s heart.
Yesterday, firefighters from Batu Niah and Marudi received two desperate calls to rescue kittens that were trapped under the car hood.
Miri zone fire chief PgKB I Law Poh Kiong said Batu Niah crew responded to the 4.20pm call before driving some 27km to SK Sungai Maus in Ulu Niah.
Over in Marudi, crews were informed by a person who drove the car right into the fire station at 5.18pm that a kitten has entered it’s engine area.
In both cases, firefighters were able to remove the kittens from the engines, safe and sound. – Dayakdaily
