KUCHING, Jan 25: A 13-foot-long cobra was caught at a house along Jalan Kedang, Sri Aman this evening.
Sri Aman firefighters was alerted about the 10kg intruder by the house owner who spotted the reptile at 6.15pm.
According to PBK II KUP Noor Faqriakmal Jamari, it was understood that the snake had entered the house and residents tried to chase it away while one of them called the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) for assistance.
The snake then exited the house through the front door towards the car porch before coiling itself on the gas tank outside.
Despite its size, it took firefighters less than three minutes to capture and secure the snake.
The cobra was subsequently released into its natural habitat. — DayakDaily
