KUCHING, March 22: Victims of a recent fire in Kampung Haji Baki have received one-off aid totaling RM19,200 from Tabung Baitulmal Sarawak (TBS), aimed at alleviating their immediate financial burdens.
According to a statement released today by TBS General Manager Datu Abg Shibli Abg Mohd Nailie, the aid will be swiftly distributed to the affected individuals to provide them with much-needed assistance during this challenging time.
“In addition to the financial aid, food packs were also provided to the victims, which were handed over by TBS staff in collaboration with Batu Kitang assemblyman Lo Khere Chiang,” Abg Shibli stated.
The aid comes in the wake of a fire earlier today that destroyed four houses and damaged four others in Kampung Haji Baki.
Abg Shibli further highlighted that as of Feb 29, TBS has disbursed a total of RM16.32 million to eligible recipients.
He noted that these aids were distributed through various TBS programmes, including the ‘Program Mengukuhkan Tradisi Keilmuan’, ‘Program Membangunkan Institusi Islam’, ‘Program Memantapkan Kebajikan Ummah’, and ‘Program Peningkatan Kemahiran Ummah’. — DayakDaily
